- Welcome to the Saint Andrew Library
  
  Wikoff's wonderful world
  
  Hello! I'm Mrs. Wikoff, the librarian at Saint Andrew School. I am excited to teach library and research skills and inspire a love of reading! Our library holds over 20,000 books.
  Each class has a Library Google Classroom with activities, resources, and the book request online catalog. Students can also access the catalog from their Chromebrooks.
  I am a resource for teachers and I support research and cross-curricular projects.
  Our lending policy permits the following:
  Students in Kindergarten through 5th Grade are permitted to check out books every two weeks.
  Students in Grades 6th through 8th do not have restrictions and may check out books at anytime.
  Starting in 4th Grade, Library counts towards the English Language Arts (ELA) grade.
- Curriculum Overview
  
  Kindergarten
  Library manners, book care, story time, authors, and the 5-Finger Rule for selecting books.
  Lower School
  1st Grade: Fiction vs. nonfiction, book organization, and transitioning to chapter books.
  2nd Grade: Dewey Decimal System and library organization.
  3rd Grade: Explore and compare genres like fantasy, biography, and poetry.
  4th Grade: Monthly book reports, research projects, and Google Slides presentations.
  5th Grade: Research skills, MLA citations, Internet safety, and multiple research projects.
  Upper School
  6th-8th Grade: Advanced research, MLA citation, copyright, and 8th grade capstone support. Students also write the "We Are Saint Andrew" poem, with one published in the yearbook.

  Students in 6th through 8th Grade visit as needed and can request research help at any time.
